A 45-year-old Evanston woman was arrested at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday in connection with a domestic battery report after multiple altercations erupted between her and her child’s father at her home in south Evanston.

Police were first called to the home in the 800 block of Dobson Avenue just after midnight, when the 48-year-old Evanston man reported a verbal altercation between him and the woman, who was intoxicated, Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski said. The man said the woman tried to hit him, but he was uninjured.

The man called a second time at around 2 a.m. and reported that the woman had pushed and shoved him, Polinski said. Officers then arrested the woman.

Her court date has been set for April 19.

Evanston man battered, found unconscious

Residents notified an officer on patrol in downtown Evanston at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday that juveniles had battered a man in the area.

The 59-year-old Evanston man was found unconscious near Church Street and Benson Avenue but regained consciousness before emergency personnel arrived, Polinski said. He appeared to be intoxicated.

The man told officers he approached a group of rowdy juveniles to address their behavior and was then struck by an unknown object from behind, Polinski said.

Polinski said he could not provide suspect information.
