A 57-year-old Evanston woman found her vehicle’s front passenger window broken and her purse stolen from the front seat on Tuesday, police said.

At 4 p.m., she parked her car in the parking lot of Lovelace Park, 2700 Gross Point Rd., and noticed the damage upon returning at 4:30 p.m., Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said.

The purse contained $60 cash, credit cards and her ID.

Graffiti found at CTA property in south Evanston

Officers were dispatched to a Chicago Transit Authority-owned property in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue on Tuesday morning. Black spray paint was found on the retaining wall to the CTA tracks.

The letters “RBR” were spray painted on the wall, Dugan said. The police are unsure if they are gang-related, and they do not know what the letters stand for.
