The Weekly Podcast: Black faculty recommendations and student activist dissatisfaction
October 7, 2016
The Weekly is The Daily’s weekly news podcast.
This week, we follow up with Mariana Alfaro on reactions to the Black Student Experience Task Force report. We hear what recommendations black faculty members have to alleviate some of the problems that the task force brought to light.
Our team also sits down with Fathma Rahman to discuss recent developments in the socially responsible investment committee charter on campus. Student leaders of divestment campaigns aren’t completely satisfied with the faculty’s decisions, so we talk about the problems with the current charter.
We also profile Viet Nom Nom, a healthy fast food restaurant co-owned by a Northwestern graduate that is coming to Evanston soon.
Claire Fahey, Nicole Fallert, Juliette Johnson, Shane McKeon, Corey Mueller and Rachel Silverstein from The Daily and Alex Lederman from WNUR News contributed to this podcast.
