A 22-year-old man was arrested last week after police found him having sexual relations with a 15-year-old Evanston girl, police said.

An Evanston police officer spotted Anthony Willis with the girl on Wednesday at about 12:30 a.m. inside a car in the 1200 block of McDaniel Avenue. The officer approached the car and told the two to exit the vehicle and get dressed.

The man, a Chicago resident, was taken into custody after police discovered the girl was a 15-year-old, said Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan. He was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, which is a felony. His bond was set at $40,000, and his next court date is Sept. 27.

Dugan said although the sex was not forced, the girl is too young to give consent.

“A 15-year-old can’t consent to that,” he said.
