A man was shot in the 1000 block of Dodge Avenue Thursday morning, police said.

The 23-year-old Evanston resident was shot in the upper arm at about 10:30 a.m. and was taken to Evanston Hospital, where he is listed in good condition, according to a news release.

Two witnesses reported two male individuals fleeing the scene on foot toward the southwest. The individuals were described as being in their late teens or early 20s, and one was spotted wearing a black jacket.

The resident, who was found to be on parole, was shot at his residence and is not cooperating with the investigation, said Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski. Police do not believe this was a random incident, Polinski said.
