Fire breaks out in the 1700 block of Lyons Street

A fire broke out in 1719 Lyons St. on Thursday night, displacing one of the building’s residents, Evanston Fire Department officials said in a news release.
The fire, which was first reported at 9 p.m., started in the kitchen area of the building’s first floor. Arriving companies found smoke coming from the first floor door of the building. Additional members of Evanston fire companies arrived to the scene after the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4. The fire was brought under control at 10 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries to residents or fire personnel. The Evanston Fire Prevention Bureau continues investigating the fire.
