Competitors from around the Chicago area competed in a powerlifting tournament Saturday at Northwestern. The Special Olympics celebrated athletes with intellectual and development disabilities. Lifters who qualified at Saturday’s event will go on to compete in the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games in June.
