Graduate transfer center Joey van Zegeren has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2015-16 season, coach Chris Collins announced Tuesday.

Van Zegeren suffered a knee injury in practice earlier this week, Collins said. The team is still evaluating the exact severity of the injury, but Collins said the medical staff’s top priority is getting van Zegeren back to full health for his potential professional career in the future.

Northwestern travels to Penn State on Thursday before wrapping up the season at home against Nebraska on Sunday.
