Senior cornerback Nick VanHoose suffered a finger injury on his right hand during practice over the weekend and will miss the Outback Bowl, the athletic department confirmed to The Daily.

VanHoose was Northwestern’s No. 1 cornerback opposite junior Matthew Harris, and earned All-Big Ten second team recognition for a season that included three interceptions and 12 pass breakups. VanHoose is likely to be replaced by one or both of sophomore cornerbacks Marcus McShepard and Keith Watkins II.
