As the vice presidents for A-Status and B-Status Finances, we have the privilege of supporting over 140 student groups by equipping them with the resources and information necessary to execute the events and activities that shape our campus culture. We’ve seen firsthand how student groups operate internally and the tools they need to achieve long-term success, innovation and growth. Each of us took on our respective roles because we firmly believe that student groups are one of the key factors that shape Northwestern students’ experiences. Not only do they allow students to develop passions and critical skills, they are a source of meaningful relationships, providing students a home in the larger NU community.

Over the past months, we’ve been hearing from student groups and leaders about issues they have faced with the current system including overprogramming, event flexibility and inclusivity. These problems not only negatively impact the functioning of group activities, but also the well-being of students. Addressing these issues takes more than hours of exposure to student groups and past ASG experience. It takes the ability to critically listen and thoughtfully respond to the diverse experiences of students. We believe that Noah and Christina’s pillars of accountability, accessibility and opportunity align with our platforms for student groups and will lead to stronger relationships between ASG and the groups we work with. Shared understanding lies at the foundation of any successful working relationship, and Noah and Christina have the capacity to build this trust with their nuanced and extensive leadership experience.

We have had the opportunity to work closely with Noah and Christina, and have seen them dedicate countless hours towards the betterment of the student body experience. Noah has created a renewed culture within ASG Senate that facilitates a genuinely open, enjoyable and productive dialogue. We firmly believe he will instill this culture within the ASG executive board and the entire organization — a culture that is necessary for success. Christina has proven capable of creating numerous resources for the student body that have provided students with the opportunity to explore their interests and talents. Her ability to execute projects will perfectly complement Noah’s track record of changing ASG culture.

Noah and Christina’s “Listen then Lead” vision for Northwestern will facilitate a truly collaborative and productive environment through which we can help our student groups. Faced with the task of creating change within a short period of time, we need to maintain a level of flexibility to adapt to problems as they arise. As VP for A-Status and B-Status Finances, we are excited to fully endorse their candidacy for the president and executive vice president roles, and we encourage you to do the same.
