Northwestern has formed a faculty task force that seeks to enhance the undergraduate experience at the University, Provost Daniel Linzer announced Tuesday. The task force will meet over the next two quarters and compile a report which it then will present to the provost.

A 1988 undergraduate report, known as the “Heyck Report” after history scholar and late Prof. Thomas William Heyck, “identified many issues that continue to be important areas of focus for the University today,” Linzer said in a news release.

“Now more than 25 years old, the Heyck Report has had an enormous impact on Northwestern,” he said in the release. “It is time to build upon that invaluable blueprint for undergraduate education with new perspectives that have emerged as Northwestern has become a more global institution and one of the most selective universities in the nation.”

The task force is chaired by Weinberg Prof. Indira Raman and comprises 12 faculty members and five other representatives, including Dean of Students Todd Adams and Weinberg senior Anna Rennich, Associated Student Government vice president of academics.
