Evanston man arrested in connection with endangering a child
Police arrested an Evanston man Wednesday in connection with endangering his 8-year-old daughter.
Officers arrested the man, 58, Wednesday afternoon at the Evanston police station after detectives investigated the incident. On Sunday, the man’s daughter woke up in the middle of the night and, alarmed that her father was not at home, called the police, Evanston police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. Officers determined that the man had left his residence and was intoxicated while away from his daughter, Parrott said. Because he left a minor unsupervised for an extended period of time, he was arrested in connection with endangering a child. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 2.
