17-year-old in stable condition after shooting in Gilbert Park

A 17-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot in Gilbert Park on Friday evening, police said.
The shooting occurred hours after an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in a separate incident on West Howard Street.
Police found the 17-year-old, who was shot in the neck, after responding to multiple calls of shots fired in the vicinity of the 1600 block of Emerson Street around 6:25 p.m., police said. A man fired several shots from behind a bush at the 17-year-old and several of the teen’s friends, police said.
The teen is being treated at Evanston Hospital, police said.
