Northwestern School of Law’s Blackboard accounts vanished from the educational content management system site Monday, only to be restored a day later.
The law courses were deleted by accident during a maintenance event on Monday, said Wendy Woodward, director of Northwestern University Information Technology, in an email. The deletion of Blackboard accounts have not happened in the past, she said.
The Blackboard accounts were restored late Tuesday afternoon after NUIT technicians worked with the vendor to fix the problem.
“We apologize for the inconvenience that was caused to Law School faculty and students during this event and will work to minimize the chance of reoccurrence in the future,” Woodward said.
