Women’s golf coach Emily Fletcher has signed a contract extension through the 2015 season, Northwestern announced this morning.

The Wildcats are coming off their first Big Ten championship in program history and qualified for the national finals in 2013 for only the second time. NU has appeared in the NCAA Regionals each of the past four seasons, and four players were named All-Big Ten honorees on Fletcher’s watch.

“Everyone associated with our team understands what a special place Northwestern is and what a privilege it is to wear PURPLE,” Fletcher said in a news release. “I feel blessed to be surrounded by the most amazing players, coaches and staff here at NU and look forward to even more success in the coming years.”

Fletcher is one of seven coaches who received contract extensions this offseason and the third to be announced. The four other names will be released in the coming weeks.
