Northwestern will face North Carolina State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge this season, the program announced today.
The Wildcats are 6-8 all-time in the interconference series, and have won four of their last five games in the challenge.
NU last faced the Wolfpack in December 2009, winning 65-53. The Cats’ first year head coach Chris Collins will be returning to the state of North Carolina, where he was an assistant coach at Duke in ACC before joining NU.
Last season, the Cats suffered their first Big Ten/ACC loss since 2007 against Maryland. The Cats’ three leading scorers in the 77-57 loss to Terrapins were Reggie Hearn, Drew Crawford and Dave Sobolewski. Crawford and Sobolewski will be back next season.
The Cats will also play at the Las Vegas Invitational in late November, the program announced today. NU has yet to announce the full schedule for Collins’ first season.
