A memorial gathering for Dmitri Teplov will be held Wednesday at The Rock, Northwestern announced Tuesday.
The McCormick sophomore, 20, was found dead in Pancoe Hall on Sunday morning. His death was ruled a suicide.
The gathering begins at 5 p.m. and marks the third time people have met at The Rock to mourn a student’s death this academic year.
“All members of the Northwestern community are welcome as we honor the life of our friend, classmate and student,” the University wrote in a campus-wide email. “This is a time for us to come together with Dmitri’s family, support one another and share stories of remembrance.”
After the gathering at The Rock, a reception will be held in the Guild Lounge in Scott Hall.
University officials have planned the memorial with the guidance of Teplov’s family. Some students commemorated his life earlier this week by leaving Post-Its on his door in Foster-Walker Complex.
A small group of students gathered on the Lakefill at dawn Tuesday to pray for Teplov and Alyssa Weaver, a Weinberg junior who committed suicide while studying abroad in November.
