- Stephen Colbert made an appearance at President Clinton’s Global Initiative University. During the event, the Comedy Central star revealed he created a Twitter account for the former president, under the username @PrezBillyJeff. Now let’s see if he can get more followers than Hillary.
- NBC has been shaking up their late-night talk show lineup. After weeks of speculation, it was officially announced that Jimmy Fallon will take over for Jay Leno as host of “The Tonight Show.” Leno had it coming: After the 2009 controversy between Conan O’Brien and Leno over the same show, Leno’s bad karma was bound to catch up with him.
- Months later, Tom Cruise is finally speaking out about his split with Katie Holmes. The actress filed for divorce in June, while Cruise was conveniently out of the country. Cruise admitted he “didn’t expect” the divorce. Really, Tom? Because everybody else is just shocked the marriage lasted five years in the first place.
- Power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z spent their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba. While some were questioning the legality of their trip, sources report it was absolutely cleared with the proper authorities. Both the U.S. government and the Treasury Department approved the trip to Havana, because, come on, it’s Beyonce and Jay-Z.
- “Glee” star Heather Morris and her boyfriend are expecting their first child. The 26-year-old actress is reportedly three months pregnant. It’s too bad “Glee” has already tackled the teenage pregnancy storyline. Now they just have to deal with the ramifications of casting actors in their late twenties to portray high school students.
- Actress Amanda Bynes has hit a downward spiral. The star skipped the pre-trial hearing for charges she received for driving without a license and was later spotted wandering aimlessly through Times Square. She later claimed the person photographers spotted was simply a look-alike. Amanda, if you have a look-alike, take advantage of it, and send her to court instead.
- LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are making plans to star in their own TV series. The show would draw on their experiences, possibly including an ex-wife character based on Cibrian’s ex Brandi Glanville. Rimes and Cibrian would play “versions of themselves.” Portraying other characters would probably be too much of an acting challenge.
