Rebecca Crown clock tower to alternate green and blue during DM

The clock tower outside the Rebecca Crown Center — a Northwestern staple that lights up purple following Wildcats’ athletic victories — will look a little different this weekend.

The clock will alternate being lit green and blue from Friday evening through Sunday morning to celebrate the 2013 NU Dance Marathon, being held over the weekend. Blue was the favorite color of Danny Stanton, the four-year-old boy whose 2009 death from epilepsy inspired the Danny Did Foundation, this year’s primary DM beneficiary. Green honors the Evanston Community Foundation, which has been the event’s secondary beneficiary for 16 years.

“This is another example of the University uniting around this vibrant tradition and our goal to engage the community in the great work of the Danny Did Foundation and Evanston Community Foundation,” DM co-chair Matt Larsen, a Weinberg senior, said in a release Tuesday.
