- Britney Spears and fiance Jason Trawick have split up after dating for three years. The third time is not the charm for Spears, who has been married twice before. Spears also announced she is not returning as an “X Factor” judge. Given her history of spiraling out of control, electric shavers and umbrellas are being kept out of her reach.
- Prince Harry was named Town & Country’s most eligible bachelor. The 28-year-old royal has had his fair share of scandal, making the ranking an interesting choice for the magazine. After being photographed naked late last year, “eligible” might not be the right word for the prince.
- Lindsay Lohan created $50,000 worth of damage at the W Hotel in New York City. The damages were caused by cigarette burns and lots and lots of partying. Sadly, it’s all pretty typical for the troubled starlet. Lohan is also dealing with four charges against her after yet another car accident. Four for you, Lindsay Lohan? You go Lindsay Lohan! But seriously, remember the glory days of “Mean Girls?”
- Tina Fey and Amy Poehler received rave reviews for their Golden Globes hosting gig. The awards show got more viewers than it has in six years. Someone getting not-so-great reviews? Taylor Swift, after the cameras showed her pouting as Adele accepted the award for best original song. If she can fake surprise so well, she’s got to at least come up with a good “gracious smile” reaction.
- After spending time attempting to establish himself as an actor, Justin Timberlake decided to bring sexy back and bust out his boy band moves. This week Timberlake released his new single “Suit & Tie” following an announcement for his new album, the first in six years for the singer. The new song is being used to promote the re-launch of MySpace, everyone’s favorite social networking site from middle school. Justin, you practically said it yourself: MySpace isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? Facebook.
- Jessica Simpson announced she is heading back to TV — but don’t worry, it’s not another reality show. Instead, Simpson is creating and starring in a program based on her life, a slight step up from reality television. Let’s hope the writers she hires will be able to work their magic, because no one else thinks Simpson’s life is quite as fascinating as she does.
