Nearly 500 Evanston residents cast their ballot on the first day of early voting in Illinois, according to the Cook County clerk’s website.
Across the county, 13,723 voters went to the polls to vote early today.

Early voting begins today in Cook County.
Northwestern students can cast an early ballot at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. The civic center will be open for early voting 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Early voters must bring a valid photo ID to their polling place. Acceptable forms include a driver’s license or WildCARD.
The early-voting period in Illinois ends Nov. 3, three days before Election Day.
