An attempted burglary occurred at a 66-year-old Evanston man’s home in the 1600 block of Emerson Street on Monday afternoon, said Evanston Police spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott.
Earlier that day an unknown person piled garbage cans underneath a first-floor window of the house. Parrott said the individual raised the screens of the window but failed to push in the window.
Nothing was stolen and there are no suspects at this time, Parrott said.
