After having two home night games on the Big Ten Network last season, Northwestern will play one prime-time game this year, against Vanderbilt on September 8, the second week of the season and NU’s home opener.
Last year’s night games – against Michigan and Penn State – saw NU’s two largest attendances of the season, with 47,330 fans – a sellout – and 40,004 fans, respectively. The Wildcats also played at Iowa under the lights.
NU played Vanderbilt at night two years ago in Nashville. The Wildcats won that game 23-21.
This year’s game will kick off at 7 p.m.
