Indiana overcame a sloppy start in the first half to run away from Penn State, 75-58. The Hoosiers were paced by Jordan Hulls’ 20 points, while Cody Zeller added 19.
The Nittany Lions were led by Tim Frazier’s 26 points, but couldn’t get any of their other players going in what has ultimately been the story of their season. Even Frazier had an off night, missing some easy shots near the rim. Penn State lacked experience and interior size, and the latter ended up doing them in, as they were out-rebounded by Indiana’s strong frontcourt 45-29.
Indiana was aided by a strong Hoosier-State crowd and will look for that same support tomorrow when it takes on Wisconsin.
More notes from the game:
– Tim Frazier and Trey Lewis accounted for half of Penn State’s points.
– With the win, Indiana more-than doubled last year’s win total of 12.
– Indiana’s Cody Zeller and Christian Watford both finished with double-doubles.
– Penn State had only 4 points off the bench.
