Student charged with selling marijuana at ETHS
A 17-year-old Evanston resident was arrested Monday at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
A special education teacher’s aide said he or she observed the student trying to sell the cannabis to students in the hallway, Evanston Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
The student admitted to having cannabis. Officers recovered about 3.2 grams of marijuana and eight clear ziplock bags, Parrott said.
The 17-year-old was charged as an adult and received a felony charge because he allegedly intended to sell the drugs, Parrott said.
The student will appear in court March 13.
