Men steal vodka from Jewel
Two males in their twenties stole three handles of vodka from Jewel-Osco, 1128 Chicago Ave., shortly before midnight Sunday.
They fled the store with two bottles of Absolut Vodka and one bottle of Grey Goose without paying, according to Evanston Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott.
There was video surveillance footage of the incident, Parrott added.
Parrott said grocery store employees recognized the two men from a previous theft.
Glenview man charged after early morning disturbance
A Glenview resident was arrested and charged with breach of peace early Sunday morning after allegedly causing disturbances near Howard Street.
Officers responded to the 2800 block of Howard Street and encountered the Glenview man “ringing doorbells and yelling through intercom systems,” Parrott said.
The initial call to EPD came from a 76-year-old Evanston resident who was “alarmed and disturbed” by the actions of the Glenview man.
“He was shaken up over the incident,” Parrott said.
The suspect, described by Parrott as “possibly intoxicated,” was charged with breach of peace, an Evanston city ordinance that is a form of disorderly conduct.
