Two Northwestern students arrested for underage possession of liquor
Evanston police arrested two Northwestern students Thursday for underage possession of liquor.
Detectives responded to complaints of students of age purchasing liquor for minors at Evanston 1st Liquors, 1019 Davis St. They observed a female student handing a bag to another female student outside the liquor store at about 8 p.m., Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
The bag contained two 1.75 liter bottles of vodka.
“We’re not targeting Northwestern University students,” Parrott said. “We just want to call it to their attention that it’s unlawful for minors to possess alcohol.”
It is unknown who purchased the liquor. Both students, who are 19 years old, are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 7.
