Evanston Public Library cardholders now have free access to thousands of e-books for their Kindle readers, according to a news release issued Monday by the city.
The digital titles are available at My Media Mall, an online database opened to EPL patrons Wednesday. Interested users need a valid EPL card, an
Amazon.com account, any generation Kindle reader and Internet access to download or transfer any e-book from My Media Mall.
The website allows up to five e-books to be checked out at one time, with optional lending periods of either one or two weeks. Rented e-books “simply expire” and delete themselves from the reader’s Kindle when the lending period ends, according to the news release.
