Residents will be able to weigh in on the 30 best ideas for city improvement at Evanston150 voting sessions slated for Oct. 15 and 16, according to a news release issued Wednesday by the community initiative.
The public votes will take place at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at Century Cinema, 1715 Maple Ave.; 2 and 3 p.m. Oct. 15 in room N112 at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave.; and 1, 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at St. Francis Hospital, 355 Ridge Ave.
At each site, a 21-person jury recruited earlier this summer will present attendees with the 100 proposals they aggregated. Community members will then cast their votes for 30 favorite ideas via an electronic keypad or paper ballot if any venue runs out of open seating.
The voting sessions will last about 45 minutes, and ballots in Spanish will be available at each location, according to the news release.
Evanston150 also revealed its Final 10 Announcement Event on Wednesday, at which the last batch of community-betterment ideas will be publicly released. That ceremony is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave.
