The Evanston Community Foundation announced in a news release Monday it has been offered matching funds from an anonymous donor for its kindergarten readiness program.
The youth initiative, titled “Every child ready for kindergarten, Every youth ready for work,” targets at-risk families with children up to three years old. “Every child,” as the program is informally known, provides early development resources backed by “cutting-edge academic research,” according to the news release.
The anonymous gift will help expand and maintain that pilot project, which was initially launched by the Grand Victoria Foundation.
The new donation also contributes to the Grand Victoria Foundation matching gift challenge, which runs through Sept. 29.
ECF will now net $2 for every $1 donated through Sept. 29.
