GOP Presidential race begins to take shape
There was plenty of action this week with the Republican 2012 Presidential field, as a number of candidates formally announced their candidacies. Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House, officially announced his candidacy via Twitter Wednesday. Ron Paul officially jumped into the race as well, making his announcement Friday on Good Morning America. Also this week, Mitt Romney gave a major speech at the University of Michigan defending the Massachusetts health care reform law he championed while serving as governor.
Human Sex yanked from schedule
The sex toy scandal made headlines on campus again this week. The Daily Northwestern reported Monday that Prof. Bailey’s popular Human Sex class would not be offered in the fall. In response, 70 academic professors from around the country signed a letter asking Northwestern to bring the class back.
Microsoft buy Skype
Microsoft Corporation announced on Tuesday its acquisition of online calling company Skype. It will pay $8.5 billion in cash – making it Microsoft’s largest-ever acquisition – and will incorporate Skype as a division of its massive company.
