The former governor of the Great Lakes State is coming to NU’s side of Lake Michigan.
Jennifer Granholm, who served as Michigan’s governor from 2002 through 2010, was an active member of Barack Obama’s campaign team in 2008 and has been mentioned as a potential nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Granholm is famous for advocating for environmental causes, which was part of the reason College Democrats decided to bring her in, said Josh Noah, the group’s president.
Noah said Granholm will be “presenting a very realistic proposal” regarding environmentalism, even in the face of difficult politics and a bad economy.
The event will be held 7 p.m. on May 23 and will take place in Harris Hall room 107.
