Student robbed behind ETHS
A student was robbed Wednesday afternoon behind Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., after he tried to buy a cell phone from an acquaintance, police said.
The student intended to make the transaction in the parking lot of the high school, but his acquaintance convinced him to walk to a house in the 1500 block of Pitner Avenue. When he arrived another man appeared and both men demanded the victim’s wallet and iPhone. One of the men held a metal object concealed by a black glove, which the student assumed to be a gun, Guenther said. The men then fled the area.
