Senior center Amy Jaeschke has cemented her place in Northwestern’s history books, earning All-Big Ten honors from both the media and conference coaches, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday.
Jaeschke, who was also named to the All-Big Ten defensive team, is the first NU player to accomplish the dual feat since forward Kristina Divjak did so in 1998.
Sophomore Kendall Hackney and senior Beth Marshall, NU’s second and third leading scorers behind Jaeschke, were also awarded All-Big Ten honorable mentions.
Jaeschke has received some form of All-Big Ten honors during all four of her seasons with NU. During that time she has established herself as one of NU’s all-time greats. She is second in program history in both scoring and rebound and holds the record in career blocks.
This season she is averaging 22.3 points per game, 9 rebounds per game and 3.3 blocks per game.
Jaeschke has already been named to the State Farm Wade Trophy Watch List, Naismith Trophy Midseason List and Lowe’s Senior Class Award Candidate roster.
