Grammy-winning blues pianist Pinetop Perkins will perform 7 p.m. Friday at Evanston SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave.
Perkins, who is 97, began playing blues in Mississippi in the 1920s. He was the subject of Clint Eastwood’s documentary “Piano Blues” in 2000 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
The Willie “Big Eyes” Smith Band will accompany him in his performance at SPACE.
Tickets will cost $22 in advance, $25 the day of the show and $34 for reserved table seating.
