Steven Epstein, the John C. Shaffer Professor in the Humanities and Professor of Sociology at NU, will discuss “Sex, Science and Cancer: The Politics of HPV Vaccination,” on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 1703 Orrington Ave. Prof. Epstein will specifically address Gardasil, a vaccine for preventing cervical cancer by preventing a sexually transmitted infections from spreading. The vaccination has become both popular and controversial in the United States.
