Block Cinema will be showing the Kartemquin Films documentary “Late Works Are the Catastrophes” Thursday at 7 p.m. Produced by Jerry Blumenthal and Gordon Quinn, the 80-minute film was released in 2004. The film looks into how Leon Golub’s later works focused on violence and oppression, as well as darker aspects of the human condition. Golub is also highlighted in one of Block’s fall exhibitions.
