Allergic reaction to peanuts sends Ayers resident to ER
A Northwestern student went to the emergency room Wednesday after she had a severe allergic reaction to peanuts, police said.
The 19-year-old student told police she was having an allergic reaction when they arrived at Ayers College of Commerce and Industry, 2324 Campus Drive, at 10:21 p.m., University Police Deputy Chief Dan McAleer said. The fire department had also been called, but the call was cancelled for unknown reasons.
The student was taken to Evanston Hospital, 2650 Ridge Ave., McAleer said. The police did not have an update on her condition.
54-year-old student falls, treated outside Annenberg
A 54-year-old NU student tripped coming out of Annenberg Hall, 2120 Campus Drive, on Wednesday and cut her hand and knee, police said.
The woman was at the east exit at 9:22 p.m. when she fell and dropped a glass dish she was carrying, McAleer said. Despite the cuts, she refused to go to the hospital and was treated at the site of the accident.
Police have no update on her condition, McAleer said.
