NU employee finds car scratched in parking lot
A driver scraped a Northwestern employee’s car Wednesday in a parking lot at 2020 Ridge Ave. and did not leave a note, University Police said.
The employee returned to her car at 1 p.m. and found scratches on the driver’s side and rear bumper, Deputy Police Chief Dan McAleer said. There were traces of maroon paint in the scratches, McAleer said. Police checked the lot for a maroon car but could not find one.
Student vomits in Tech, taken to Evanston Hospital
A student went to the hospital Wednesday after vomiting in the Technological Institute, 2145 Sheridan Rd., police said.
The student said she had suffered from stomach cramps all day, McAleer said. She began vomiting in the ‘M’ wing of Tech around 3:20 p.m., he said. A professor called an ambulance, and the student was taken to Evanston Hospital, 2650 Ridge Ave.
Resident’s car stolen from grocery store parking lot
Someone stole a car Wednesday from the parking lot of Food 4 Less, 2400 Main St., Evanston Police Department said.
The car’s owner discovered the maroon 1994 Dodge car missing at 2 p.m., Cmdr. Tom Guenther said. The owner’s groceries, which were in the car, were also gone.
Police have no suspects, Guenther said. They have entered the car in the city’s database of stolen vehicles.
