Electronics stolen outside Steak ‘n Shake
Someone took a pink iPod nano and a GPS device Wednesday from a car parked at Steak ‘n Shake, 2209 Oakton St., police said.

A woman said someone entered her apartment Jan. 5, ate her oatmeal and stole her diary, police said.

Police and firefighters put out a fire Wednesday at Lisa’s Café, 2332 Campus Drive, University Police said.
Leaves stuck in a vent caught fire and created a cloud of smoke, Deputy Chief Dan McAleer said. A police officer used the fire extinguisher from his squad car to put out the flames, and the Evanston Fire Department sprayed the area with water, McAleer said.
