The 1800 Club, 1800 Sherman Ave., will close in March 2010. The bar, popularly known as “Hundo,” will end its lease in the Northwestern-owned building next year, said Dale Wright, the bar’s general manager.
NU purchased the building, located only blocks away from campus, in 2005 and will gain complete control of the space currently occupied by the 1800 Club once the lease is over. The University is interested in using the space as an office for Information Technology and does not plan to renew the bar’s lease, Wright said.
Wright said he could not comment on whether the bar is looking for a new location.
