NU has been ranked fourth among medium-sized schools for the number of graduating seniors entering the 2009 Teach for America corps with 43 accepted students, according to a press release.
“NU ranks consistently at the top of Teach for America hires in comparison to schools of similar sizes,” said Brett Boettcher, assistant director of the Career Management Center. “I think Teach for America knows the quality they will receive by hiring an NU student.”
Teach for America accepted just 15 percent of its total applicant pool, which this year had more than 35,000 individuals.
“Teach for America is consistently a popular employer amongst NU students and the number of NU hires is also consistently high,” Boettcher said.
