Students looking for a bicycle have a chance to get one this weekend.
The Evanston Police Department will hold a bike auction Saturday.
The auction, which will be held at the EPD headquarters, 1454 Elmwood Ave., will begin at 10 a.m. following a preview at 9 a.m., according to a flyer put out by the city. All proceeds from the event will go toward the police pension fund.
All the bikes come from EPD’s unclaimed property. The “vast array” of bikes available for auction include a Cannondale, a racing bike worth more than $2,500 and an adult tricycle with a basket, according to the flyer.
Cash and checks are accepted at the auction, but photo ID is required for checks.
