A second Illinois citizen died from swine flu complications Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
In the statement, Department Director Dr. Damon T. Arnold expressed “deepest sympathies to the family for their loss.”
He elaborated that the victim, a resident of suburban Cook County, had previous medical conditions that made him or her vulnerable to the infection. Dr. Arnold also reminded Illinois residents to continue to take precautions to avoid swine flu, such as washing their hands and covering their nose when they sneeze.
