Retired Northwestern Provost Lawrence B. Dumas died Monday.
Dumas, who had been provost 11 years, retired last year. He had battled a brain tumor for the last year, according to a press release.
Vice president of university relations Al Cubbage described Dumas as “patient” and “thoughtful.”
“Larry was a remarkable leader, a great asset to the university,” he said. “He truly will be missed.”
There will be a memorial service for Dumas Friday at 2 p.m. at Alice Millar Chapel.
