This past weekend, Northwestern tied for eighth-place at the Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. The Wildcats shot a 36-over 900 for the tournament, helped by junior David Lipsky’s eighth-place, 2-under, 74-75-69, finish.
Beyond Lipsky’s third-career top-10 performance, the Cats struggled to gain momentum in their penultimate tournament of the fall season, finishing 39 strokes back of tournament winner Texas Christian.
Senior Andy DeKeuster almost notched his second consecutive top-20 weekend, but a stumble on the last two holes left him in 27th place. Sophomore Ravi Patel had two strong rounds to end the tournament, but his first round 80 sunk his chances at a high-finish.
NU is next in action Nov. 3-5 at the CordeValle Classic when it finishes its fall season.
