Three rob Main Street bank

A Main Street Evanston bank was robbed Thursday afternoon, police said.

Two men and one woman entered the First Bank and Trust, 741 Main St., just before 2 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement released by the Evanston Police Department.

One of the men gave the teller a bag and a note demanding the bag be filled with money, the release said. No weapon was displayed.

The teller filled the bag and the man grabbed it and ran from the bank with the other two robbers.

The three subjects were all described as in their 20s. The men were tall, with medium builds, while the woman was short and thin, wearing a white jacket and dark pants, the release said. They were last seen running north on Sherman Avenue.

Employees at the branch, which opened in February, acknowledged the robbery, but declined further comment.

EPD is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on investigating the robbery, the release said.

More to come.
