Mike Kalina’s first three years at Northwestern have been a struggle.
While tried and tested with a multitude of injuries and rehab stints, his mental toughness has remained.
“He has a tremendous approach and attitude because he dealt with a lot of adversity early,” NU coach Paul Stevens said. “He has found a way not to sit there and dig himself so deep that he couldn’t find himself a way out.”
In his small hometown of Munster, Ind., Kalina developed all the tools needed to pad an impressive high school baseball resum
