The Lookout

He wakes up. He takes a shower. He … well, his sequencing is not quite all together just yet.

The Lookout tells the story of Chris Pratt, (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) a kid who has it all but loses everything in a horrible accident. He cannot even write out the details of a normal day. But pretty soon, he is given a chance to get his life back – all he has to do is be the lookout for a bank robbery.

The Good: The film develops into a haunting story that is hard to escape. The characters jump off the screen and under your skin as you become intrigued by their every move. The outstanding directorial debut from screenwriter Scott Frank is sometimes unsettling but always keeps the audience wanting more.

The Bad: Wanting more can be bad when a key character like Isla Fisher’s disappears with no follow up.

The Ugly: None.
