Northwestern offensive coordinator Garrick McGee was charged last Thursday with driving under the influence and speeding.
Court documents said McGee was stopped on Dec. 24 in Oklahoma.
He is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and speeding 16 to 20 miles per hour over the limit. McGee posted a $1,100 bond.
“There is nothing more to report other than the athletic department will handle the situation internally,” assistant athletic director for media services Mike Wolf said in an e-mail.
The former Oklahoma quarterback took over the Wildcats’ offense last year after former coordinator Mike Dunbar left for the same position at California.
McGee was NU’s wide receivers coach in his two first seasons in Evanston.
